This tour is a discovery of the arid regions of Southern Africa, with a special focus on the huge Kgalagadi and Namib. Only a certain highly adapted fauna and flora and the astonishing people living there have succeeded in coping with the challenges of this rough, diverse desert habitat.
Starting in Cape Town, this adventure leads you along the tracks of the first people of Southern Africa-the San and the Khoi-Khoi. You’ll traverse the barrier of the Cederberg Mountains, follow the mighty Orange River on canoes, cross over to Namibia into the Namib and loop back to your ultimate destination: the unforgettable sighting of a gemsbock herd grazing on the invisible grasses of the Kalahari dunes.
